Master Run Ideas

  • Speed Run
  • Minimalist Run
    • Collecting 0% of items is possible (major upgrades are not counted in the collection percentage), however it requires a glitch, or a very difficult Shinespark to accomplish.

Completion Tips

The map will show unattained expansions as a circle in the room, and obtained expansions as dots. In addition, after beating the game, a Metroid icon is displayed next to your file on the File Select screen. On this file, any locked doors in the endgame section will be unlocked, allowing you to fully traverse the BSL. The pause screen will also display the number of each expansion you have collected, and will show an icon if you have collected every expansion of a given type in your current sector. As such, it is recommended that you clean up the items in the game in this state, although these effects will persist if you select "Start Over" instead of "Continue" when selecting a file.

There is however still some ambiguity in this (such as when there are two items in the same map grid), so a thorough player may wish to use a checklist to avoid a long search for the remaining expansions at the end of the game.
